Contrasting Hardware and Banding on Drapery Panels

Here are two photos from today's install of drapery panels. The designer's assignment was to select fabrics and drapery hardware to compliment a man's office. She chosen Kirsch hardware in contrasting finishes. The Kensington Heirloom Gold rings and finials make a bold classic statement. Since the hardware went up to the crown molding I opted for a top down install to get the length right.

Banding in a navy blue suede accented the blue in the striped fabric. I always apple banding by hand. It takes abit more time but is always perfect.

Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to keep the stripes lined up straight when sewing pleats. I have found an easy way to do this - I use my trusty tag gun. Be careful when machine sewing not to hit a tag with the needle. The stripes are then lined up straight on both sides of the pleat.
