IWCE Construction Zone
March 7th and 8th I had the privilege of sharing my knowledge in two IWCE Construction Zone demos. The first day I taught my Low Bulk Method for Attached Valance Panels, explaining how to remove 2 layers of interlining in the header to reduce bulk and make pleating easier. I also shared tips for sewing pleats which are pleated to pattern and my Neat Pleat Drapery Control System. My fabric, Scissors and Sewing Machine Damask took center stage as the valance.
The second day I taught a slipcover class called Cruising the Curves. I showed how to make the 'Y' cut for turning corners and curves on furniture. I also shared a brief history of slipcovers in New Orleans , Louisiana. And, yes, my chair is on the Construction Zone sample wall. Leave it to Terri and Jeff Booser to find a way to hang a chair on a wall!
It was a fun and busy two days meeting new people and teaching at IWCE 2017.
