These roman shades will be installed in a room that faces the front of the house and the boards and lift systems will clearly be visible. Knowing that both designer and homeowner won't want to see the boards and lift systems, I came up with an easy solution - a flap of blackout lining at the back of the board hanging down 3" to cover both board and lift system. I stapled the flap as I was covering the board.
